Berjumpa kembali di blog yang in syaa Allah akan selalu fokus memberikan informasi materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris.

Dalam kesempatan materi kali ini, kita akan belajar bersama bagaimana kita mengenalkan diri kita sendiri kepada orang lain dan bagaimana pula kita mengenalkan seseorang (baik orang tua, teman, guru, atau siapa saja) kepada orang lain.

Of course....

Ketika kita berada di komunitas, instansi, sekolah, atau tempat baru, kita awalnya tidak saling kenal satu sama lainnya. Therefore,....kita harus mengenalkan jati diri kita.

Well.....

Sekarang apa itu Introducing?

--> What is an introducing?

Introducing  is an expression used to present a person to another so as to make acquainted.

(Memperkenalkan adalah ekspresi yang digunakan untuk menampilkan seseorang kepada orang lain untuk berkenalan)

Ada 2 jenis perkenala, yaitu Introducing ourselves to other (mengenalkan diri kita sendiri kepada orang lain) dan Introducing someone to others (bagaimana pula kita mengenalkan seseorang (baik orang tua, teman, guru, atau siapa saja) kepada orang lain.

Biasanya, untuk mengenalkan jati diri kita, kita akan menambahkan beberapa informasi. Diantaranya informasi nama lengkap/nama panggilan, alamat tempat tinggal, hobby, favorite/kesukaaan, keluarga, pekerjaan, dan lain-lain.

Then, ...

Apa yang akan kita ucapkan/sampaikan ketika ingin mengenalkan diri kita dan mengenalkan seseorang kepada orang lain?

Perhatikan ungkapan-ungkapan dibawah ini :

1. Introducing Yourself

A.  Formal Introduction :

•     Hello, My name is _____. What is your name?
•     Good morning, My name is _____, and you?
•     I’d like to introduce my self. I am _____
•     Allow me to introduce myself. My name is _____
•     Let me introduce myself. I am _____
•     Would you mind if I introduce myself? My name is _____

B.  Informal Introduction :

• Hi, I am _____, And you?
• Hi, My name is _____

Contoh 1

Good afternoon. Let me introduce myself. My name is Dedeh Fatima. You can call me, Fatima. I am from West Java. I live in Bandung, in Kampung Pandan, on Jalan Serai. Precisely, I live at 46 Jalan Serai, Bandung. My hobby is cycling. Thank you

Contoh 2

Sutan  : Hi, Are you the new student?

Mysha : Hello,. Yes, I am Mysha.

Sutan  : I’m Sutan. Where are you from?

Mysha : I’m actually from here. My dad worked in the USA but now he is retired. So, I’m back.

Sutan  : Glad to meet you. Get to go. Bye.

Mysha : Glad to meet you, too. Bye

Contoh 3

Hani : May I introduce myself? I’m a head master in this school. My name is Hani. I don’t think

            we’ve met, have we?

Yogi  : No, we haven’t. I’m Yogi, I’m a new teacher here. I am English teacher in this school. Nice to

            meet you, Mrs. Hani.
Hani  : Nice to meet you too, Mr. Yogi. Happy working.

Yogi   : Thank you.

2. Introducing Someone to Others

A.  Formal Introduction :

•           I’d like to introduce my friend.  _____
•           Allow me to introduce my father to you. His name is _____
•           Let me introduce our neighbor. He/She is  _____
•           Would you mind if I introduce you to my teacher? His/Her name is _____

B.  Informal Introduction :

•           Hi, This is  _____ (your friend's name)
•           Hello! Her/His name is _____
•           I want to introduce you to someone who has been seen before.

Pablo  : Good morning, Rahel.

Rahel  : Good morning, Pablo.  Who is he?

Pablo  : First of all I would like to introduce you to my cousin, Oliver. Oliver, this is Rahel.

Oliver  : Hi, Rahel. Nice to meet you.

Rahel  : Hi, Oliver. Nice to meet you, too

Contoh 2

Galih  : That’s Deri. Do you know him? 

Fitri    : No, I don’t. 

Galih  : Hello, Deri. How are you?

Deri   : Hello, Galih. I'm fine thanks. 

Galih  : Deri, this is my friend, Fitri Nurlaila

Deri   : Hello Fitri. Pleased to meet you.

Fitri   : Hi, Deri. Pleased to meet you too

Sinta  : Good morning, Hana.

Hana  : Hi, good morning. How are you doing Sinta?

Sinta  : Very well, thank you. What about you Hana?

Hana  : Fabulous. By the way, let me introduce our new friend, Anisa.

Sinta  : Hi Anisa. I am Sinta. How do you do?

Anisa : How do you do?

Sinta  : Sorry, I am in hurry. I need to go now. Mr. Frans called me.

Hana & Anisa : Ok. Take care.

Sinta  : Take care of yourselves too.
